Does anyone know if the new S88 also provides rail with power?

Hi Jonas,all,
Why? Your not talking about the 60882Confused In 2-rail,when using a contact track, some current has to be supplied to the isolated section.

Hi D,

No, I mean that isolated track connected to S88 should be powered with 0 so the engines get better connection from all wheel.

Hi!

Using 60882 you don't need isolated rails, so there won't be contact problems.
Drawback: only cars that consume power will be detected (people who use this scheme always have end cars with light).

Not much information leaked about the 60881 so far.
Regards
Tom

Is not 60882 only for Trix 2-rail?

It's for digital only. Should work with 3-rail, too (unless they mess something up). Third party products work with either 2-rail or 3-rail.

I don't use computer control so I do not need feedback. If I needed feedback, I'd consider using current sensors like the 60882 to prevent contact problems.
3-railers have the choice, 2-railers have no choice.

Hi Jonas,all,
You didn't ask that, you asked about the 'new' S88. BigGrin The old S88's I never had a problem with all they do is give feedback that a lok, train,or wagen is located on that isolated rail.

True.

If you are running digital,in a way you are already running computer control. Cool

No 2-railers do use contact tracks but most op for other methods of detection/occupancy.
