dear friends,

I have seen in the new items Märklin catalogue that we'll have soon new S88 done, the 60881 items. Am I allowed, in your opinion, to use them with an old CS1 (60212)? They seem to be cheaper than the old ones, 60880...BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin Drool Drool Drool
In the meantine, I ask you this too! I want to realize a reverse trains setting in my layout. Using the same ports in the S88 may I arrange too two different itineraries for setting in the right position the turnouts?
Thanks in advance!

No : As per current available documentation.

The 60881 connects to a 60883(L88) via a RJ45 connection - not a flat ribbon cable.

The 60883 (L88 = Link s88) appears to be a "gateway" from the CS2 system bus that provides for the ability to place s88's (6088?,60880,60881,60882) at a distance from the Controller.

If a connection was possible it would be via the 60883 and system bus. the CS1 does use the same system bus but this only meets the physical connection needs.
IMHO it is highly unlikely that the CS1 will recognize the language of the 60883.
