Whew, just ordered mine from johnvandamme today. A good price as well. 277.30Euro (ex VAT), 37Euro Postage, 14.12Euro for a fitted 72270 328.24 Euro total (the listing price on this was 329.99) I thought it was a good deal. Edited by user 20 November 2012 06:51:20(UTC)

I thought it was a good deal. That's a little over $400 real dollars - it's a pretty good deal.. |

Got the loco yesterday. Its excellent.
One issue I do have though, I installed the 72270 in the loco. It runs fine, until you turn the smoke generator on, then the loco stops and the lights flash. When it gets switched off everything runs fine again. Any ideas to what I have done wrong?

Loco stops with flashing lights when the decoder is on overload. The smoke generator causes a short circuit. Maybe you didn't push it in all the way and the contact lid for the smoke generator touches something inside the loco. Or the boiler hit the contact lid and bent it down. |

The loco number is 18320 but my 39023 mfx locomotive is registered in the Central Station as 18230. In the manual is also said that the name is 18230. Somebody at Marklin has dyslexia
And mine has not running smoothly, as somebody said. This locomotive some times runs making little jerking

Hi Tom,
Thank you very much for your help. I hadn't pushed the unit all the way to the base, and it was causing a short circuit. I had to use an ice cream stick to push the smoke stack all the way up the flute. It was my first time fitting one so an error was bound to occur.
Take care, Marc.
Pictures will be found in my "My Layout" thread to avoid clutter here.

In fact, he seems to have a pile of them for 299 Euro (incl German VAT) - I ordered one from Joachim this Monday after reading this - and he has relisted another one... So, still a possibility to get this good-looker for a reasonably good price. |

I ordered mine before it was released, and off course I paid more than you are paying.. I am seriously thinking in not ordering a loco anymore before it is made available... Seems to be a very bad deal.

Hello:
Quick question. Are all 3 drive axles geared? Or just the one rear axle.
Thank You, Paul

Hi,
Just the rear axel is geared. The other axel is powered by the piston rods.
Cheers.

As I said, Joachim (johnvandamme) seems to sit on a pile of 39023:s, so it's just to grab one... Still listed at 299 Euros.... |
