Hello all togehter,

I want to inform you about a new pcb-construction for older Märklin-Models of the "Re 460" loco of the SBB/BLS.

The problem with this locos is, when changing the frontlight to LEDs, there is no LED-pcb from Märklin.
The ones they have, are only for the Models 3960x or the brand new Re 460..
For older Modells with it's 4 ! Lamps inside, there is no easy way to change to LEDs.

Take a look to this thread in the german stummi-forum.

There you can see the pictures of a prototyp pcb with all features a SBB-loco should like to have.

1. 3/1 warm-white LEDS
2. 1ww/rt LED at the back. Switchable with a ext. component (just like that in 3960x-Models)
3. a second red backlight (configurable via solder-bridge)
4. 2 LEDs for spotlioghts

The pcb is very small and I think to bring it up as a prof. print-circuit.

If you are interested, it would ne nice, to tell me the number of peaces you would like to buy, when the pcb is produced.

This is no ordering. I only whant to get a feeling for the number of peaces.

The price is depending by the numer of pieces, that will by produced.
I will tell you the price before the final order.

You can send me a PN for your information.
with kind regards ... HGH

I think that you have done a good job with the elaboration of this project. I take it that this only fits the older 346X(X) and 376X(X) models and is not designed to replace the 29519/29858/29859/29850, C-Sine (39601-10) or the 37460 model that already came with LEDs.

What possibilities exist to install such lighting on analog/delta loks (346X(X)) or loks with classic Maerklin decoders (376X(X)) or does installing your lighting kit also require the upgrade to ESU or other modern decoders that can control multiple lighting options?

Regards

Mike C

I am interested. I need to count the number of 460s and get back to you.

Hi Mike C,

at the moment you have to change the cables to this cable conection

I have to look, if the connection of the analog or DELTA loco is the same as within the digital ones - any pics ?

I think, that analog locos will will first run without light and switch on the LEDs, when the trafo-power is high enough.

I have to look, if I can change the layout to 1:1 pin-connectivity- I let you know.

Looks like a cool upgrade...I would most likely upgrade a couple of my Re460's if these become available!

Having five older SBB/CFF/FFS Re 460 in various liveries, I could be interested in up to five PCBs sets (in total up to ten PCBs), depending on price.

Great idea. I am having four Re 460 right now and interested for six PCBs set (a bit afraid for burning two PCBs with my poor soldering skills).

Looking forward !
