I have released version 2.1 of RemoteSign

New features:

  • Analog clock (in European strain station style)
  • Scrolling text sign

It can be downloaded at http://RemoteSign.mixmox.com

For those using Google+ here is the RemoteSign page there: https://plus.google.com/b/104908021748559762847/

Here is a sample screen using the analog version of the clock:

More sample screen are at the website... but the fun is seeing the animated screens and hearing the flap boards run... so screen shots just don't cut it...

Dale,

appreciate the update, it is a very interesting item. A few of us were talking about this during the Boomers show recently.

Hi Dale

I find your RemoteSign solution very interesting. You mention the possibility of integration with other programs/SW using TCPIP. Would it be possible for you to develop an interface to WinDigipet and make it possible to take WDP info and display it on an external monitor connected to the PC running WDP. That would be a great feature.

Regards,
Thomas

Hi Thomas and Thomas!

Glad it is of interest.

I am not familiar with Windigipet myself. Does it have an API system that allows 3rd part code to interact with it?

If not, you would need to ask the WindigiPet folk to implement it - I designed the API of RemoteSign to make that pretty easy and of course I would be able to give then guidance on that too.

I found that when I implemented the remotesign support from my own layout software, I did need to have the concept of a 'station' being a collection of tracks - so that I could report arrivals and departures for a specific station on RemoteSign. Not hard to do but something that I needed to add.

I placed three stations onto the sign:
