Hi to everybody biggrin,

I have tried to install the smoke generator to my Rheingold loco (item 26750), but no smoke is generated!! [V]confused
I use it in analogic mode![:(]
My reseller doesn't know why it happens and send the loco to Milan, from where I know that the smoke generator works only in digital.
All operations connecting the smoke unit directly to pickup shoe are peraphs, in my opinion, a non good idea. [8)]
What do you think, please?

Stefano

According to maerklin.de the smoke generator works in analog operation ("Spitzensignal und nachrüstbarer Rauchsatz konventionell in Betrieb, digital schaltbar.").
I have a Maerklin BR 18.4 myself and I find it difficult to get the smoke generator into operation (too much smoke fluid => no smoke, too little smoke fluid => no smoke); sometimes it helps if I gently touch the pin inside the smoke generator with a tooth pick ...
Regards
Tom

Hi Stefano,
I presume you have checked the obvious things:
Does the smoke unit make electrical contact with the body of the loco? There might be too much paint residue in the chimney channel.
Bending the contact wire of the smoke unit outward just a little bit might help.

I'm very interested in your experiences with the loco,as I have problems getting a similar S3/6 to smoke.

Best Regards
Guus
Kind regards,
Guus

Hi Guus,

All seem good in my loco and my reseller said the same!! He spent the loco to Milan and the answer is that the 26750 smoke generator is only for digitally operations!!

Best regards
Stefano

Hi Stefano,
I'm sorry to hear that your smoke unit doesn't operate in analog mode.As you and h-zero already pointed out,the Märklin information says otherwise.

Best Regards
Guus
