I recently purchased a Brand New old stock Marklin E75 Electric Model; 34750. which came with a delta decoder (I thought was Marklin Type).Never having seen this board type decoder before, I come to find out thru a friend that this model was a carry over from their merger with Trix of the late 80's and early 90's which means that all bets are off when it comes to a replacement part from the boy's at the factory and that I am SOL. Can anyone steer me in the right direction as far as a factory replacement (New or Used) or must I go the ESU route considering the locomotive already has a DC motor. The chip is blown on the circuit board while all of the other components seem to be in perfect condition.
Help!!!
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Regards.

Just buy an ESU M4 (MFX) decoder. Cheap and easy.

It would be difficult to find a factory replacement delta decoder and I can't imagine why you would want to.

Anyways - it's best practice to first get an adapter board AND a 21-pin plugin decoder.

ESU has adapter 51968 - which was designed to emulate the shape and connections of the typical Marklin 6090x or Delta decoder.
You can solder all the cable connections to this adapter board.
It has a 21-pin MTC interface - so decoder will just plug right in on top of that.

Advantage of this: Clean conversion.
It is easy to upgrade in the future if you want to change your mind - pull the decoder out, and fit in a new one.

As for decoder choice, Nev and Eric already mentioned a few choices above.
Do you want to run it on MM (Marklin-Motorola) format, MFX, or DCC?

If you're thinking on just running it under MM protocol (for instance, if you don't have any late generation controllers that read MFX) - go with ESU Lokpilot V3.

If you're going to run it with MFX - then Lokpilot M4 is probably the only sensible choice.
Drawback is that Lokpilot M4 is more expensive than any other ESU Lokpilot types.

Marklin OEM decoder AFAIK are way too expensive - they're only available as spare parts too.
Hence why most people tend to buy from third party manufacturers.

Between 2004 - 2008, ESU used to manufacture MFX decoders for Marklin models,
they're well known and reputable brand.
AFAIK they're still the most reliable supplier for MFX decoders (Lokpilot or Loksound V3.0 M4)

It also has an excellent english language section.
