Can some kind soul please explain where the HAMO name originated from? Is it an abbreviation or the name of another manufacturer (like Trix) who was absorbed into Märklin?

Many thanks

Hi Chris,all,
I'm not sure about the origin of the name.I seem to remember that it was a company that Mä took over(?) It is the name they use for there DC 2-rail models. Now that they own Trix, there is no need,.....<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Hi,
I don't know the origin of the name, but I do know that the company started in 1952 with HO tramways. In 1963 or 1964, Märklin started to market HAMO models, probably after acquiring the company.
