Hi, This week I received from purchase on eBay (two different sellers), beautiful booklets published by Märklin in 1957-58. One is in English, and one in German. I don't know if any other members own this booklet, but I thought it would be of interest here. The booklets describe the operation of real railways in Germany, and detail the principals of steam and electric traction, the running of passenger and goods trains, signalling, and timetabling. All this is done with an analogy of how to represent it in miniature using Märklin HO models. I will always treasure these booklets. The contents appear to be identical. Here are some pictures from both. Front cover: Forward page in German. Rear cover: Page 28 in English: Page 28 in German: regards Kimball |
HO Scale - Märklin (ep II-III and VI, C Track, digital) - 2 rail HO (Queensland Australia, UK, USA) - 3 rail OO (English Hornby Dublo) - old clockwork O gauge - Live Steam 90mm (3.1/2 inch) gauge. |

I inherited from my late father the english version you show with the 0311 code in the left lower corner of the front cover. I also love it because of didactic way it is written from the starting point of the hobby to prototype information. Regards

I have the English version of this book in pdf format.
The scan is of item no 753/2.
The numbers on the Foreward page are A 1055, which I assume means October 1955.

Hi, I have this handbook also. My version is English, also 0311 and has a TN 0458 st date. I got it back in 1965 when I was beginning my Maerklin love affair! I have always found it interesting and fun to read and look at. Peter

That PDF is the one I put out a few years ago. Small contribution to the growing library.

We got it off Emule, which is a client for the eDonkey peer to peer file sharing network.
However, to make it easier, I can upload it somewhere permanent for you.
