I recently aquired an old(1970)Marklin HAMO model and tried to run it on Fleischmann pro-track, but the flanges of the wheels of my TEE trainset were rumbling over the track, because the HAMO flanges diameter is too big. I heard nothing can be done about that, and replacing with smaller flanges is too expensive to consider. We,in Holland have three types of DC track: Fleischmann copper-rail, Fleischmann pro-rail with underlayment and Roco track. My HAMO model will run on Fleischmann copper track but I don't like the copper colour so I choosed pro-track, but here the rail itself is lower so my wheels are bumping over the track.
Have anyone of you experienced the same problems with old HAMO locs running on modern track? And what can the solution be, if there is one?
Thanks,
cor

Hello Cor, old Hamo wheels are not NEM compliant. You can try TRIX wheels from a similar model recently produced. Not cheap, but you'll have the same wheel characteristics (external diameter, axle diameter, etc).
