Nat...welcome to Marklin and the forum! I don't have any ideas about the MS. Maybe someone else here will.

Hi Nat

Welcome to the forum - a world of MMR information. For the benefit of all of us please state your country in your profile Smile

If it is OK every time you switch it on the problem could be caused by an internal bad connection that shows after a warm up period.

If the MS is beyond the warranty period and you are familiar with disassemble/assemble electronic equipment the first step I will suggest is to take it apart and "execise" all connections inside - look for "cold" solderings - led splashes and so on. You can also tap on the components very lightly with the handle end of a screwdriver - when disassembled (wood or plastic handle only) whilst watching the display to narrow the possible area or component of failure.

Good luck and keep us informed.

Regards,
Benny - Outsider and MFDWPL

Welcome to the forum, Nat.

Sorry, I do not have an idea, either. I would follow Benny's suggestion.

Thanks for the welcome all
Benny i have opened the back and all looks good,I will over it again maybe i missed something
I do prefer to use 2 MS too run my layout, maybe a CS in my furture :)
I have a question about layouts I presently run one out of the Marklin book 100cmX250cm
(4 X 8)
I want to double or even triple it 250cm X 250cm (8 X 8).
What will i need in the way of power, how many boosters and can i run all through the 24088
or do i need to slip it?
If i go with a CS I will go all digital turnouts.lights and signals
I know newbie questions :))
I already have my next 2 locos pic out
Thanks in advance

Nat

Hi Nat and welcome to the forum. Smile

The necessity of a booster doesn't depend on the dimension of the layout, but on how many trains you run on it.

I don't know the MS, but with my 6021 I can run 4 trains in my layout (520 x 120 cm) without problems, and they could be more, if I had place for them. Someone else will tell you about MS.

Wich locos do you have?? wink

Hi, Nat!

Do you use those MS together (Master and Slave)? If so, is it the Master that fails? Try to make it the slave.

Tom

Welcome Nat,
I'll try What Benny suggests but try after it has warmed up and then faulted. disconect the power then look for a dry solder joint. (hard to find when cold).
Good luck.
