Hi guys,

I purchased this loco that supposed to be mfx

When I add it to the track , my device cs3 is unable to see it, i even tried to find it from edit button- discoperit mfx

Îs not a setup issue as I tested multiple locos before.

Can You give me ideas what should I do ?

Is the mfx clicked on in the CS3? If it is you might try entering the loco using the model number of 30000. Or in DCC mode. Have you registered other mfx locos on the CS3? Sometimes the loco is registered but it is hard to find in the registry. Try searching for it.

Yes, i tested and added other locos mfx today. All worked.

I tried dcc- no results . No movement , no lights, not a tiny move when attempting to register.

This loco wasnt added before , i just got it today.

I posted pictures how it looks inside. Not sure If the decoder is mfx .

Thanks

So you registered it as dcc? Raise the loco edit tab up so that it shows at least two rows of locos and download a picture of that for us. If the loco was registered through mfx it will ignore any dcc registration.

Did not work to register as mfx
Did not work to register as dcc- no results found when scanning was performed or using the database.

Not sure what you mean by "Did not work to register". I was able to register the loco as mm with address 78 even though I do not have one. I could have done it also as dcc. Of course since I do not have one I could nor operate it. Once again, if the mfx registration was successful even though you can not find it, the CS3 will not operate the loco with any other registration. Post a picture of your loco file.

I'm on a train and I find it difficult to get your pictures. Haven't seen any picture of the decoder yet.

With respect to mfx, assuming the loco is mfx: If mfx is enabled in the CS3, the loco decoder will ignore DCC and MM.
If DCC is enabled in the CS3, the loco decoder will ignore MM.

#30000 was Delta first, fx later, now mfx.

So if you want to test the loco with MM, make sure only MM is enabled in the CS3.

To test DCC, make sure only DCC or DCC+MM is enabled in the CS3.

You can set a new MM address without knowing the current MM address. Default should be 78.
You can set a new DCC address without knowing the current DCC address. You should be able to read the current DCC address, too. Default should be 3.
Regards
Tom
