Did the Belgian railways ever have a condensing locomotive?

I have owned this model for a good fifteen years. I have always enjoyed it and its rotating cooling fans. I always wondered why the SNCB would have a condensing locomotive. it did not seem to be something they would want. Recently I started looking it up. I cannot find any information.

The model is described as Era 4. Belgium had a number of 26 class locomotives, class 50 in Germany. Some were possibly made during the war in Belgium. They appear to have lasted into era 4. The only class 27 I can find any reference to is an electric locomotive from the 1960"s (I think )

is this a fictitious item?

I understood they received it as part of WW2 reparations.
How long it kept the tender may be open to clarification.

As far as I recall from books and other forums they had at least one, left behind by the retreating German army in 1944. It was assigned a belgian number (series 27 from BR 52) and put in inventory but probably was never used and scrapped quickly. That is why it is in German black grey colors and not typical belgian green.Like you say, there is not really a need for condensing locos in our country. So the era should be 2 or maybe early 3. But it looks nice so why not.

Here it says they had 3 and some were used until 1946. There should also exist pictures, the books and magazines are listed in the thread.
