Hello everybody.

I have a very silly problem and I need your help.

I have the 24640 and 24649 crossings (Marklin C track). I can not connect correctly either of them to my temporary layouts. I understand that my problem is that I do not connect correctly the brown wire that was included on each box. Can you please help me? Which one goes where?

Thank you

Paris

While isolation of the Red (B) is desirable in a number of situations, there are very few situations in deed where you would want, or need, to leave the track rail - Brown (0) - circuits (shown as Blue and Black) isolated.

I believe the most common misunderstanding, with English speaking fans, comes from incorrectly thinking that the "B" marking = "Brown" when it actually refers to "Bahnstrom". Also the fact that the stud ciruit isolation is applied differently to the rail circuit isolation does not help.

you may install the brown jumper at either end of the track piece, between the Brown (0) Tabs at top and bottom as indicated

(Note: image shows an X-Ray view of the tabs under the roadbed. The "0" is marked/embossed on the plastic next to the more prominent of the two tabs)

Without Jumper for Brown - Note Red (Orange/Yellow) stud circuits are joined by the loop of the track external to the crossing

Thank you very much for your help!!! So if I get this right, I just have to connect the two nearest Os with the brown wire and I am set to go. I will give this a try.

Thanks again.

I discovered the answer to this one totally by accident the other day when my newly purchased 24 Class loco stopped dead as it ran over the crossing

After a moments thought and a little fiddling I worked out that it was to go to the ground on one side of the crossing thus giving continued ground to the tracks on the end

Hi
Worked for me, thanks. I think marklin should put an instruction in the box as to what to do with the wire!
