Good morning all. I just started using/learning the Rocrail train control system. Seems great! Definitely a learning curve so bear with me as I learn. So far I have been able to connect the ECoS to Rocrail via router & IP address method. In Rocrail I can see all the locomotives loaded in the ECoS and control the locomotives and functions with Rocrail and the ECoS hand controllers (moble controllers) . So, the initial setup and running locomotives went well 👍🏻.

Locomotive images:

I uploaded (individually) 3 locomotive images. I accessed the ECoS on chrome web browser via the IP address, this is how I upload locomotive images originally as .bmp files (required by ECoS). I can easily select and save each locomotive pic as a .png file and save it in the Rocrail images folder. Then add the image in the locomotive properties.

Is there a faster or better way to upload 45 locomotive images? Or do I need to save the images one at a time in Rocrail’s image folder then add the image in each Loc’s properties.

Not sure if this is the only method , but the one I have found.

Hopefully my explanation is understandable.

Best regards,

Rich S.

I think what you are doing is the only way to do it.

Good to know that Rocrail is starting to work for you. There is indeed a lot to figure out, and Rocrail documentation, while surely extensive, is not always easy to navigate.

Keep us posted, there are several forum members who can give solid help on Rocrail if needed.

When uploading Locomotive images there are three locations in the Locomotive properties if one chooses to get that involved in the image details.

The image size should be 80 pixels high, PNG format correct?

The first image location is for the locomotive properties?

The second used in the throttle?

The 3rd location, I do not understand the description in the Rocrail notes.

What do you recommend for a picture size that results in a good quality image?
