Hi everyone,

Since my 74861 was out of work, I kept on trying to make a simple turntable, which could work with Marklin CS3, it should be easy, reliable and cheap.

There are 3 main issues:
1. Shift direction of motor for turntable: I use a servo to change the positive and negative poles of the motor;

2. Pick up power and signal of contact track: I use Pogo pin same as Marklin, Marklin has 8 units, I can only make 5 units, but I add one line on the circle track on turntable base, then total 6 lines: track O, track B, contact track, shed light and two for blink lights;

3. Stop deck of turntable at specified location: I use magnet and Hall sensor to achieve this.

You may get more information from video and photos.

Homemade turntable for Marklin HO

Have fun.

I am sick to death of failed BS design, "probably" making things far more complex than ever needed on any conceivable level... by "some" magnitudes!

Great to see some real world tangible skills.
