I keep getting an error message suggesting that the system is in a loop, waiting and never comes
"i Information The initial read iin of the S88 contacts is not finished yet. Please wait for the process to finish, following devices still not ready Links88-1"

The ground appears correctly installed
The power supply to the S88 Link installed.

Welcome Jim. I watched the last digital club webinar on December 11. It's on YouTube. It covers event loops. I haven't tried any yet, but watch it. Curtis Jueng and Rick Sinclair discuss the actions and conditions and delays for which you can set up with loops.

Did you create an event that has a loop in it? There is a way to stop it. At the top there should be an icon of a loco with "control" label. Click on it and you can terminate the loop event.

Hello Jim

Can you please indicate your hardware setup.
Which Central Station are you using ?

You indicate that you do have Link s88.
How many additional s88 modules have you attached ?
Which BUS are they attached to ?

It is possible that you have to set the number of s88 which are attached to each BUS (BUS1, BUS2, BUS3).

Regards
John

Hi Jim
On a CS3, if there are feedback / events refering to a LINK 88 (60883) then, this message appears if:
- there is no Link88 plugged to the CS3
- there is no external power listed to the LINK 88

Here, circled in Violet is a typical warning that the CS3 or CS3+ could not scan all mentionned Link88 (Internal for CS3+ or external for both)
During this time all events are blocked.

So be sure:
- that all mentionned Link88 are connected and powered
- that there is no error in the "given" name(s)

Check also that the bus lengths are exact and declared in the CS3

WARNING Make sure that both the CS and the Link88 power supply(ies) are on the same multiple power outlet strip so all powered at the same time

Cheers
Jean

Don't you just love it when people come in here for help, do a sloppy job describing the problem and then disappear. I have two issues Jean with your solution. First your excellent screen shots would be better if the CS3 was first set up in English. Second I am not sure if your warning is necessary. I have a power supply for my layout but it has switchable outputs and I often turn the S88 on after the CS3. I have not seen any difference when doing so in the performance of the contacts to it.

Hi RHFIL
Because I write on French, English and German forums, I don't do a dedicated language translation on each image
What matters is NOT when you turn OFF the power on your various devices but rather when you turn them ON (Märklin supplies, Router, etc)
Cheers
Jean

Yes, the router will not be recognized by the CS3 if not on before or at the same time as the CS3. The router comes up immediately and the CS3 takes a few seconds. Have encountered that many times with our club layout. The person setting up the router keeps plugging the ethernet cord into the ethernet connection and then I have to change it and reboot the CS3. But I often experiment with something and then decide to turn on the three contact tracks, four circuit tracks and one reed switch to test out my theory or just run a couple trains.
As for the German, if needed I can always bring up the same screen and see what the English is.
