I want to upgrade my 2 34641 and 42 diesel Lok's. I need a recommendation on what 5 pole motor kit to get. I will be using Lok Pilot 3.0v DCC decoders. Any help would be great. Wish there was a cross reference chart for the Marklin Lok's for motor upgrades.

I searched for conversion of 34641 using duckduckgo and came across this picture with link. Not sure if the inside of your lok looks similar to this one. https://2img.net/h/abload.de/img/p1160031yjjha.jpgI think it uses the 60901 motor parts. I think your LPV3 will fit, but space will be tight.

According to 3Rail Wiki, both lok's are Delta with DCM motors
The motor kit for a DCM 5 pole conversion would be 60941
