Hi All,

Just received the new Green Re 6/6 # 37328 very nice runner BigGrin .

I wanted to check out the motor etc by removing the body.

I have removed the two long screws from below as per instruction sheet expecting the body to simply lift off as usual but it does not want to shift.

I have searched for screw on the roof etc and around buffers etc but no luck and also removed centre floating bogie.

HELP would be appreciated as I do not want to force any thing the wrong way - thanks.

Regards

Diesel

Hi Diesel
I have noticed on Märklin locos that sometimes, on first opening of brand new locos, it stucks a little probably because it was assembled while the paint was very recent.
Cheers

Hi Jean,

This is what I thought also and there is a little movement.

Also one window in the drivers cab moves as if it is attached to the chassis.

It would be good to see photos internally of the body removed if some one has this loco.

Cheers

I have the earlier 29488 Re 6/6 (Red) which also has the centre mounted motor. I believe it has the same screw mounts as the new 37328.

The two screws on the underside are the only thing holding the shell to the chassis. You do not need to remove the centre bogie.
If, as you suggest, there is some movement of one of the windows in a cab, it is possible that this is sticking and making it hard to remove the chassis.
Have you tried sliding a piece of paper between the chassis and shell to see if there are any obstructions?

I will open my 29488 and post photos for you. It might take a few hours to get to it.

Regards

Hi Mike,

Thanks for the reply and I look forward to the photos.

I am already sliding some thin plastic between the chassis and shell feeling for obstructions but hesitated around the windows in case I created damage.

Hopefully your photos will give me a better idea of what I am sliding up against.

Cheers and thanks

See page 23 of the manual:

Looks like there should be two screws under the centre bogie.

Hope this helps,

Harold.

Hi All -Problem solved,

Last night I left the Loco body supported in the centre with centre bogie off and 2 main screws removed.

This way the chasis was not attached and gravity was pulling it down.

This morning 12 hours later I lifted the loco up and the chasis dropped down about 5mm - a little giggle and it dropped down.

It had been held in by one black insulation tape which cover each LED on each corner of chassis - it looks like the glue from one tape spread side ways and adhered to the bottom corner of the drivers cab which was why the window above was moving before.

I have tried to attach photos but cannot see how to do it - will do if someone can assist . ( THANKS KiwiAlan -pictures now attached BigGrin )

Thanks for all the input with a good out come and the help of gravity and time.

Cheers
