Hi everyone,
I may have finally cracked the code on do-it-yourself LED passenger car lighting, using the cheap strip LED rolls you can buy all over the internet. My test set came together wonderfully, and minus taillights in the baggage car it is working well.
So a question for the experts as I look towards converting more of the fleet: what color LEDs are appropriate for passenger cars over the various eras? yellow vs warm white vs cool white etc? (or Kelvins in color temp)
Any experts have a good guide for this? Thanks in advance! |

I don't know how many people have considered this, but I tried using white for the non-smoking compartments and yellow for the smoking compartments and was satisfied with the results. I still would love to see a LED strip that had controllable LEDs for the compartments as well as a set of LEDs for the corridors, WCs and gangway areas.
Regards

John, Era I and II coaches used gas lighting, so more yellow, or warm. Modern from Era III flourescent, then led, so cool or more white light. Marklin makes both cool and warm kits. I think ESU and Viessmann as well. The roll strips also come in differnt hues.
