What would be the appropriate steam locomotive to pull the Marklin HO 46030 Kohlwagen zug set?

Well, I have used a Br45, 37450, but i'm sure that there are many other goods steam locos would be appropriate. In my case I have that set along with some other coal wagon sets to make a quite long train. I'd have to dig out the other set numbers.

Hello Imagine,

There are probably many freight or heavy freight locos that can pull such train. It sort of depends what you have available, unless you intend to buy a specific locomotive dedicated to that train. Some of my favorites would be a BR39 (39390 -- converted to LokSound 5), BR44 (37883 -- converted to LokSound 5), BR50 (3684 -- converted to LokSound 5), BR52 (39530 -- MFX+).

Just some ideas to think about. I personally run that train as a dedicated thru-freight behind a diesel V200 (39821 -- original C-Sine).

Cheers,
Andry
