Hi all,

I am starting a new building kit and the first step (lol) actually has me confused. I have seen these before but never used them. As you know from my layout, I have done many plastic kits in my time.

But I don't get how these fensterschnittmuster 'window foils' are supposed to work. You can read the instructions - the included English translated instructions don't really make sense to me.
In particular the second step 'Cut out the required windows and glue them to the rear side of the window farme WITHOUT the pattern sheet.
Isn't that what the first step is?
You can see I have cut out the piece but its just white. Like thin white gloss paper on gloss white cardboard. Not really sticky.

There is no picture or anything on it. How is that supposed to look with just white? Am I missing something in the translation?
The only other accessory in the kit is the black paper blackout which I am quite familiar with.

It's self-adhesive transparent, on a white carrier, if i understand correctly.

Thanks Jeroen, that gave me the clue I needed.

You're meant to separate the entire sheet, then place the gloss paper side onto the clear plastic sheet and simply use it as a template to cut the right shape out.

Hi,
Hold the white pattern sheet behind the window foil to give you an indication where you need to cut the window foil.
Then you have the right size window foil to glue behind the window.
I just normally do a rough size that is too big for the window so I have space to glue without messing up the actual window.
There is normally more than enough window foil, so it does not have to be that accurate.
You don't see the inaccuracy behind the plastic wall anyway :)
Just my 5 cents ( 2 cents needed to be adjusted for inflation) thoughts.
Tim
