Hello! Hope this is the right place to ask.
I've gotten alot of Marklin trains & tracks, and have no idea of model trains. Is this worth anything, if yes how much? Or is it best just to be thrown out :)

Hi Rasmus,

These trains are quite old and were probably made in the 1960s.
As far as I can tell there is nothing in that lot that is rare or desirable.
They are not in pristine condition.

The best way to sell the collection is in one lot by auction on eBay (or similar market place).
Be honest in the description - "not tested, sold as is!"

That is my opinion.

Not valuable, but also not junk! I'm sure there is a good home for these with a child or family that can clean them up and put them around the tree :)

Agreed, not pristine, but I've seen MUCH worse and from people asking pure fantasy prices.

I would suggest there must be at least 50 Euro value at least in that selection, possibly a bit more. That's not to be sneezed at. You'll get a nice dinner at least :-)

Someone here may offer, otherwise ebay etc.

Good luck.

The green diesel locomotive and the green baggage car are the best items of this lot, and may alone fetch the 50 euros as Cookee suggested. The metal station building would also have some value if the missing parts can be found; perhaps someone with proper skills could salvage it even from this condition. The railroad crossing can go to metal recycling.

There's no metal station there, just the remnants of a FALLER plastic kit

Hello Rasmus,

In case you want to known ... the station shown is Faller station B-95 "Blumenau", that was in the Faller program from 1958 to 1963.
Too bad so many parts are missing. Sad
In good condition Blumenau is a very nice station.

Someone setting out to restore the station may be able to get replacement sprues from Faller. You would need the instruction manual to find the sprue numbers and then enquire of Faller if they happen to have spares of those sprues that could be purchased.

Alternatively if it is mostly just roof pieces that are missing, something could be fashioned out of embossed card by a suitably enthusiastic modeller.

Sell on ebay, as is (incl the headaches), or donate to local model train group who sell at their shows. I bought a couple of such (larger) M collections and had a good time checking and cleaning (and updating). I also curated marklin gifts like this and the group sold some pieces.
In case of doubt, donate (or gift to a user group member for shipping cost).

Some still use M track so may be worth selling There are also many who enjoy repairing and bringing up to date old models. Worth a go on eBay or even somebody on here might be interested.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.
