Today, I visited a HO gauge rail model exhibition, which was not dynamic models layout but it looked very authentic in many details. These layouts were made according to the real scenery around 1960~1980 in Taiwan, including stations, rolling stocks, rail facilities, streets, buildings and people's living in that era. Here are some pictures I would like to share with fellows. As a result of the glass of showcase and spotlights, some pictures were interfered by the lighting. Taipei Rolling Stocks Maintenance Factory The factory has been converted into National Railway Museum since 2016 which preserves and exhibits number of locomotives, passenger cars and freight cars used to running on the main or branch lines. https://www.nrm.gov.tw/ Changhua Station Roundhouse The roundhouse has been registered as the railroad heritage, which becomes the famous and popular location for rail fans in Taiwan. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Changhua_Roundhouse Beitou Station Beitou was famous by the hot spring a century ago. For the purpose of transporting people to enjoy the hot spring site, from 1901 a rail line had connected to Beitou from Taipei but dismantled and rebuilt as MRT line in 1997. The station has been preserved and well- maintained https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tamsui_line Hsinchu StationThe station was built in 1913, which is being used and remains the original appearance. https://en.wikipedia.org.../Hsinchu_railway_station kaohsiung Harbor Freight line This line was built from 1910 and has been converted into LRT. The part section of line is preserved and becomes railway park. In the park you can see steam and diesel locomotives. A shunting loco runs back and forth on the rails as usual even though the line has been out of service. At the north corner a green building for signals and turnouts control still can be in operation. Neiwan line At the beginning of Neiwan line was designed for transporting coal and cement. The line also provided passengers service with a diesel railcar with bi-direction drive. This layout shows the beautiful rural scenery in earlier ages. Pingxi Line Jingtong Station Pingxi line was also built for the coal mining in 1921. The last station is Jingtong where you can see the coal loading building beside the station. Now Pingxi line is a sightseeing route with the famous sky lantern festival. Taichung Station Taichung Station was built in 1908 with delicate and gorgeous Baroque style. This station is completely preserved as it was but which is used for museum showing the historical documentaries and photo about the station. A electric multiple unit train also exhibits on the track behind the station. The new station is elevated viaduct construction located beside the old one. https://en.wikipedia.org...Taichung_railway_station The disappeared scenery - elevated railroad section before arriving at the Taichung Station Turntable at Keelung Station Taichung Depot Others
