Is it possible to write simple events on a CS2 ? Or do I need a CS3 ?
I want to install one or 2 IR sensors on a small layout and the sensors would activate an event, viz. to slow down the train and stop at the station and then move on. Also, I thought I might install some signals at the station.
Any suggestions would be welcomed.

Hello Greg CS2 have a MEMORY fonction. Each MEMORY cell can be activated by a sensor. It contains a string of commands In this example a MEMORY fonction activates a sequence of commands of a crane (Großbekohlungsanlage)  So the CS2 is capable of complex events BUT not as complex as with a CS3 like this one where logical fonctions are proposed AND, OR, RANDOM, LOOP, IF, etc  Both the CS2 and CS3 propose an event recorder: you type the commands you like with the time intervals you like and it can be replicated by either an EVENT (CS3) or a MEMORY string (CS2). NOTE: in the second screen (CS3) I don't have examples of complex commands because all my processing is done through Rocrail. But CS3 capability is way better than the CS2. So, to answer your question, both the CS2 and CS3 can do what you whish and MUCH MUCH more. Seems complicated but when you test it, you get easily into it. Cheers Jean |

Hello Greg
I use CS2 with Memory events.
I also use s88 Link to get the feedback from the layout registered into the CS2, and I choose to use Circuit Tracks as triggers.
You could also use other sensors as triggers into the s88 Link.
One could also create blocks to check for occupation detection if you want to use conditional events,
(such as : if the main line is occupied, then take the branch line, otherwise take the main line)
Works very well.
