Does anyone know a site for information
or some books or media for learning and understanding
how to programming and create events?

Hi

Attention, there are two event modes: the normal one and the extended one. You may want to start with the normal (simpler mode) to get started.
Look at 15:26 into the video below to decide which mode you want

There are videos in multiple languages on events also in English like below.

Seems complicated at the beginning but by playing with the concepts it gets easy.
Later you can access to logical fonctions

Note: events on the CS3 can be very powerful BUT there is a limit: the CS3 does not keep track of where the locos are UNLIKE PC train control software like Rocrail.
To a CS3, there is "a" loco near signal xy. To Rocral, loco "abc" is in block / signal xy.
The big difference is, the CS3 needs to use stop sections commanded by signals while Rocrail KNOWS which loco to slow down or stop and therefore send a digital order to stop / slow-down / restart thus making a stop section totally useless.

The other HUGE advantage of Rocrail or its equivalent is: Trains stop in proper location IRRESPECTIVE whether the loco is in front or at the rear of the train (Shuttle)

This results in:
1- Simplified wiring: no need to have stop sections or slow-down section
2- Smaller cost: no need for signals / relays in non-visible zones, no need for slow-down modules
3- being much easier to write logical sequences

Note: Märklin books are instructive and nice but are expensive and become rapidly outdated (because of CS3 Updates). Just my opinion.
Cheers
Jean

I would recommend the 03093 book and the Youtube tutorials but nothing replaces going in and just experimenting on your own. Make a simple track with various sensors and try everything. Doing so I discovered some unusual properties, undocumented, of the Shuttle event.

Yes, but don't try too much at first. You can end up with a mess that doesn't do waht you want, and causes problems. Then you may have to re do a lot. Do a couple or a few simple events, and if you liie how they work, and want to keep them, back up the system on a usb stick. That way, if anything complex goes awry later, you can delete them, and start from the backed up events. The actions and conditions can get confusing. Even the digital Marklin dudes have issues in the webinars.
