I want to know if the lights will stay on using a 2032 3 volt button cell connected to a magnetic reed switcch to energize the relay connected to the led strip? All reed switches seem to be either spt, or spdt normally open, or closed. Will the relay keep the switch closed so the lights stay on?
Thank's for any help! The relay is 2.1 cm x 1.3 cm x .8 cm so it should fit up in a car roof.

You are wanting to run the relay from the 2032 cell, as well as use the cell to light the LEDs? How are you going to turn the relay off?

I have a magnetic telescoping wand. Will it turn both on and off?

I'm trying to replicate the Rapido "easy peasy" ones which are unavailable, have been for over a year.

Train Tech battery lights are very good. When they supplied direct the service was good but now it is with Gaugemaster I expect stocks may not be good. I use the lights on several of my Marklin coaches.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.

Yes David, thank's! Quite similar, but they have a motion sensor. I have the Marklin HKM glowing steel ingot car with it. It works well on M track, but not so great on C. The rail joints must be a smoother transition. How about these? I could easily make them with small motion switches, and the battery holder/board from Amazon. I have resistors, and extra 3 bulb led strips from Evemodel in Nuess, Germany. I can solder them in series. Thye work well. At 12, or 16, are too bright, but one resistor dims them just enough.

In single point perspective, where do track lines meet?

Thanks Mark! I ordered a package of 10 battery holders, 20 high sensitivity vibration switches and small 3 volt blue capacitors. Under $35.
I'll report back if they work and stay lit in motion. At 3 volts, they shouldn't need resistors, and be just bright enough.
