Well, after a 5 month wait after my pre-order, my 39595 brown Croc finally arrived from Reynaud's on Friday. Man, what a beaut! It has to be looked at under a magnifying glass to be appreciated with all the fine details. After running it in under no load for about 20 minutes, I've found it to be able to pull a long train up a 3.5% incline without slowing down, thanks to the 2 motor drive and heavy diecast construction. However, I did notice something odd when running analog. You have to apply at least 3/4 throttle on the transformer before the lights come on and the loco starts moving. Once it's going, you can run it slower, but it won't start at the low voltage. Is this an issue with the newest digital engines, or just a quirk with this one? I don't intend to return it, but I am curious.

That's not always unusual in alalog operation. Such a great Croc deserves a full digital controller though.

Point taken. Thanks for replying. I might go digital on future expansion, but for now I'm still a digital Luddite!

I understand exactly where you are coming from, so welcome to the club.BigGrin
The fact that you are considering digital in future expansions does not make you a
luddite.
A luddite is one who refuses to accept the introduction of new technology.
In saying that I want to wish you good luck in this exciting hobby and to it
continued expansion.
