One of my sons tells me that he has seen some transparent C track in a model shop where he lives.
I’ve not heard of or seen this, what can anyone tell me about it.

The ref. numbers are 20197 (188mm), 20198 (172mm), 20196 (R1 curves), and 20199(?) for track ends. Those have unpainted sleepers.

There was an earlier series with painted sleepers, but I don't have details.

I have some. There are 24130 curves, 24172 and 24188 straights, and 24001 end caps.

It was primarily produced for shop displays AIUI, but a fair amount was sold to customers. It was produced around 10 years ago.

Hi
Looking on ebay Germany I found quite a number of them using the search "märklin c gleis transparent"
Curves, straight, track ending pieces
https://www.ebay.de/sch/i.html?_...rchsichtig&_osacat=0

Many pieces seem to have no painted sleepers
Cheers
Jean

My son has now bought me some straights of two different lengths and some end pieces. They will go with my transparent locos!

Sadly, my son reports that the Tyrollean model shop which had this track is closing after 80 years, the owner is retiring and cannot find anyone to take the business over.
Something common to the UK as well.
