Carmotion discussion on Stummi's forum - use Edge or Chrome browser to auto translate

In the Stummi's thread they talk about DC-Car and Open Car. Does anyone have any information regarding these standards / products?

My German is about as good as some translation, but it's possible they are talking about Digital software for the system.
Open platform vs. Licensed use.
If a picture is included with the description it can help.
Or, are they referring to removing the body from the chassis?

Interesting what they have been able to do, but as with MRR decoders, the memory capacity of modern microprocessors means that it all comes down to programming and battery capacity.

They already have a wheel kit for Kibri trailers ..., now for the electronics to go in the trucks and cars. That is when it will really take off.

I do like that it is somewhat backward compatible to the Faller system, in that it will work on the same roads.

Seems fairly complex to me. I don't have space for long enough continuous streets to embed cabling, etc. Mine are crowded with about 300 plus vehicles, included parked ones.
Mostly trucks offered, one MB E sereies ambulamce. Why couldn't it's chassis workings and motor be adapted for other cars?

Street prices seem to be a bit cheaper, about 12.5% by my reckoning. Hopefully that reflects through all the dealers. The starter set at 175€ street price looks interesting.

There's already a retro fit kit for lights, hopefully there will be one for the other electronics not far away. I'd like to see a variety of cars - even Faller don't have that many cars.

Yes, agreed. I have a Faller Car starter set which I haven't opened yet. The club is also starting to make use of the Faller car system.

Those #5017 2 pole couplers are a big deal! I wish they were a touch more affordable, but I also don't find them prohibitively expensive.

The lippe preorder price of $5.50 per pair/coach means this could be an excellent solution to my LED lighting conundrum- how to run 2 pole from car to car reliably.

This is good motivation to revisit that project, which wasn't perfect but very far along.
