Anyone have an idea what this part (base?) is for? approx 4 3/4" square, has a tag indicating this is Marklin Part # 37504. Thanks

I don't think the 37504 is correct. We need a photo to be certain, but i suspect you are talking about a base for a crane.

I can't seem to attach a pic to my post, how do I do that? I have this listed on E-bay (item # 115228165401 ) that shows a pic. Have asked E-bayers to message me if they know what this is. no replies so far. This doesn/t look like a crane base to be, but ... ??

I think I have found it .. seems to be the base for Marklin 37540 transformer. Thanks for taking the time to look . ron

Indeed it looks like the lower frame from a 1980s transformer.
