I want to instal interior lighting in the Christmas cars 48419, 48420 and 48421.
Since it is not possible to instal the standard Märklin lighting fixtures, I am wandering if somebody of this forum has already installed interior lighting in these cars and is willing to share the solution.

Regards, Rob

I haven't yet, but do intend to.

My current thinking is to use a half stick from a 74900 lighting stick for each coach, and use one of the new pickup shoes that were introduced this year for thunderbox coaches. I haven't yet worked out if it is possible to use conductive couplings on these coaches.

Hi All,

I managed to install LED lighting in the "thunder boxes"

Thunder Boxes LED Lighting

It took time but was worth while.

Hi Alean & Ross, thank you for your solutions. I also was thinking of tapping the current from the loco and installing conductive couplings. The new pickup shoe for the thunderbox cars might be a problem since they have to be fixed with screws and I suspect there is to little room for them. The LEDs can be any make.
