Hey beautiful people in the mini world!

I have a question, and I've tried to search, but nothing is conclusive. Alas, it's time to ask for your opinions.

I have recently decided to get a new controller and what I got is 67013. Massive improvement for all my locos! Better running, quieter noise, and less heat from the motor (especially my 3-pole ones). So far I have tried to run 2 locos at the same time, but I'm thinking to run 3 locos at the same time soon. However, I'm concerned if that is a wise idea because my setup is very basic. The controller is connected to the track and the turnouts without any switches in between. Dead simple!

Is it safe to run 3 locos with my 67013 powering both the locos and the turnouts, or I should power my turnouts with my other controller and let 67013 power the locos, or whatever it is, it's just not a good idea without some modification to my wiring setup?

I'd love to hear your feedback on this, and thank you in advance!

Hello. Hope all is well.

I cannot comment about using three locomotives at one time, but I have routinely had two without issues.

It would seem a good idea to use your other controller to power the accessories. It would seem splitting this out would be wise in the long run. I have several which run my lights/switch points etc. You will be prepared for future changes. If a bit of time is spent on this change now, it will save you from having to do it down the road.

One thing I have discovered is that you can expect to change or add different features to your layout in the future, perhaps beyond what you might be thinking about right now.

Whatever you decide, enjoy your layout.

Take good care.

Dwight

Get a seperate power supply for accessories. No point tying up an expensive controller.
