Hi All...

Prototypically, did the VT95 (BR 795) always have a single trailer car (BR 995) or did it sometime run with multiple trailer cars, especially when the passenger traffic was heavy ? I am particularly interested in the period 1971 to 1990 (Era IV).

Cheers,
Ranjit

Generally, as I understand it, the VT95 (795) had not a lot of power, so one trailer car was usual.

The VT98 (798) had two motors for more trailer cars (and/or a freight car).

A few pictures of longer 795s are available, but set up more as push-pull ops, power car at each end with two trailers betwixt. It may be possible that on less demanding routes (level) that a 2nd trailer might be added, but again, weight considerations would come in to play.

(open to correction, as usual)
