Our eldest son has for some time been domiciled in Melbourne (Victoria, Australia).

Since June he has been a refugee from the COVID (pardon my caps Blushing ) lockdowns in Danistan OhMyGod
whereupon he moved back home to Tasmania to work from a home office for the duration.
He is a lifelong passionate Melbourne Football Club fan. ThumpUp

So last week we all went to Perth for the AFL grand finals which I enjoyed immensely with him.
For any viewers from Europe that may happen to be tuned in, Hobart to Perth is a distance by aircraft
of 3015 km. (We, in the State of Tasmania are in a travel bubble with the State of Western Australia Cool).

His team won the AFL 2021 Premiership (the ABs were not playing, DavidWink )

Whilst in Perth I was privileged to be a guest at Moosburg BigGrin .
John (river6109) has built a magnificent layout which is not only exceptionally expansive but also has
superb control functions over many tracks / trains and houses his comprehensive eclectic collection of
locomotives, rolling stock and motive power units that he has collected over very many years.
He has been ably assisted by his son since a very young age.

Thank you Philip, and John for sharing that lovely visit.

My wife is a great Australian Foorball League fan and although not a Melbourne Football Club follower, was delighted with the grand final win for the Demons.
It was a very very good game with the losing team ahead at half-time.
After 57 years, Melbourne FC deserved to win the cup.

Thanks for sharing John's layout.
It is indeed expansive and your photos brought a smile to my dial.

Thanks PJ and John,
I currently live in Melbourne and am a supporter of the Demons so as you can imagine I was delighted at the results of the grand final.
One thing I have to say is that despite being in lockdown (now 245 days), my Märklin layout has thrived and I'm so grateful I have this wonderful hobby to keep me sane.
Stay safe and if you haven't already, make sure you get the jab.

Regards,

Kevin

I wasn't keen on the lockdown here in WA but everybody kept their distance or stayed at home and we can now enjoy our freedom without wearing masks.
