Need help in accessing the Motor Shield screws of my BR41. I went through a previous post by BrandonVA that shows pictures of a 3082 being dismantled but my unit has a plastic plate that covers the lower screw unlike the unit shown in the 3082 pictures. See picture of my unit which is a newer version. Anyone has suggestions for gaining access to the lower screw. The plate covering the screw seems like it may be removable but I do not want to take a chance without actually learning from someone who may have done this.

Thanks in advance.

Vaji, I have a br. 51. I have removed the screw the brown wire is on, and one other at the bottom. Never the white plastic magnet piece. It is integral with the field magnet. This gives access to the armatue and gear for cleaning and oiling. The brushes fall out. The bottom screw may be on the opposite side.

That plate is just pressed in on a couple of plastic pins. It should lift out easily, possible a gentle lever with a small screwdriver initially.

Thanks Marklinist5999 and mvd71. I will try to ease out the orange plastic cover plate. The motor shield lower screw is hidden behind it I presume. Wish me luck! I will report back.

Vaji.

Thanks to all for the guidance. Successfully eased out the orange apron that was hiding the lower screw of the motor shield. I had to first remove the two wheel bogey before I could remove the apron. BR41 serviced and back on the layout.20210919_142240.jpg
