After I have my M track sections and turnouts screwed down to the board, if I want to replace a section or turnout, I find it difficult to do without removing just about all the screws. Have you found an acceptable way to replace a track section without removing all the screws?

You don't have to put screws into every track. But in the end you still have to remove a few screws to remove a piece of track. Having a segmented layout could make things easier. Of course, with screws used sparingly some tracks can be moved a bit. This can be a problem with decoration on the layout. Things become much more complicated when you start to ballast the tracks on the layout. Make excessive tests before ballasting. Make turnout motors accessible from below. |
