Electronic reverse unit incorporates several SM 4002 diodes which get warm after several rounds (e.g. on 3318). The heat is recorded when touching them with fingers, although the heat is not excessive, otherwise they will burn the skin. Besides, their operating temperature is specified at + 150 C.
Otherwise, everything looks normal, exceprt for the fact the locomotive (3318) runs slower than expected, and the switch on white transformer must be set to almost full power on the right side to achieve desired speed.
There was an answer elsewhere that electronic components consume more energy and slower speed is regarded as normal.

Questions:1.is warming up of electronic reverse units normal?
2.is lower running speed normal with electronic reverse units ?

In short,what`s your experience ?Thanks.

Yes. There is voltage drop across each diode, and current through them, so some heat is dissipated.

Yes. There is voltage drop across each diode, so there is less voltage getting to the motor.
