Hi, I’m currently making up trains for international rail services in the mid 1970s or era 4. I found a very useful web page we’re train formations from Belgium to France are given in great detail- see here
https://gibitrains.pages...n/train/compositions.htm
What I want to know is, what about International services from Belgium to Southern Europe. Such as Austria and Italy. It would be great if there were some images of train composition for these.
On this video for instance, although not in the 1970s there’s a train made up big CFL, SBB and a Belgium baggage wagon
See here-

Any help I would be very happy with. Thanks Dan 👍

LS Models has some nice models of the I4 and I5 coaches that were typical for many trains between Belgium and neighbouring countries in the 1970s and 1980s.
Many companies have released models of the I6 and I10 coaches which became more common starting in the late 1970s and running until the turn of the century.
check out lsmodels.com and models-world.eu. The latter is a division of the first, which specializes in consist sets, including a number of SNCB oriented ones.

Hi, thankyou very much for all your info. It’s very much appreciated 👍👍🙏.
Plenty to go on there. I’m actually collecting 24cm Marklin coaches to make up international trains, as I have 36 radius curves, I can cram in 4-5 coach trains and also I love there tin coaches 👍of which there is a large range.

You can make up a nice Belgian charter train using the 4116-4120 SNCB coaches. If you can find the original green ones, you can mix them with DB, SBB or FS coaches to make an international consist. Some dealers still have the coaches from those tinplate sets from a couple of years ago.
