Hello to everybody:

I'm about to start doing a database of my entire Marklin collection and I need to know how I could get as much information as possible from each locomotive.
Thank you very much in advance and my best regards to all of you.

A combination of looking at the loco itself and looking it up on the marklin item database:
http://www.maerklin.com/...arch/product_search.html

These are the fields I use in my database and an example:

ID Manufacturer Type Class/number Original des Address extra functions? Sound? decoder Connector special? delay set Mods storage Rocrail comment

37115 Marklin Steam BR 18 115 Württemberg class C MFX smoke y Marklin MFX (s) 21-pin Collectors box y - LG THREE B07, B08 -

probably best to start here with a free system that already has most of the data in it...

The Märklin Product Database is a great resource for items manufactured from around 2000 onwards.

For older items (roughly 2004 and older), HFKern's website is a fairly reliable source:
Lokos
Rolling Stock
My Layout Build | Märklin CS3+ | K-track | Merkur | Viessmann | LDT | iTrain | Modeling DB + SBB
