I'm new to Marklin and just bought a used 24058 locomotive that is very sluggish. I want to take the shell off to see what's going on inside but can't see how to remove it. Would appreciate help.

It´s quite straight-forward. There is a screw in one of the domes of the loco. Remove it, and the housing should be able to go straight up.
