Got a used CS2. I tried to register my locos on the CS2, most are MFX or MFX+. They all register automatically but the lok icon is ???. The CS2 software is the latest version v4.2.9. The same loks can register on my CS3 and show the lok icons. Anyone can help?

Hi,

I think you have a couple of possible solutions

1) on the CS2 call up on of the locos with the missing icon, use the spanner/edit function. Then you should be able to search the icons in the CS2 database and select the one you want.

2) make the CS2 slave to the CS3 and then when they start up the CS2 should access the CS3 database.

Hope this helps
Adrian

While there are gremlins in this area, the registration data that comes from a mfx decode includes the name of the icon file.

If a file of that name does not exist you get the default ???.
You can always edit the settings on the CS2 and choose a "close match"

To view the name that was registered I generally look at http://192.168.1.*/config/lokomotive.cs2 where you should see something like ...

lokomotive
.name=BR39
.richtung=1
.uid=0x4005
.adresse=0x5
.typ=mfx
.sid=0x5
.mfxuid=0x73ff7a43
.icon=BR 39
.symbol=2
.av=12
.bv=12
.volume=255

In this case we are looking for a file "BR 39.png"

You can check on the CS2 directly to see if the file still exists of via the ethernet with http://192.168.1.*/config/icons/
