Joined: 07/01/2015(UTC) Posts: 704 Location: England, Suffolk		I have 11 goods wagons. My layout has a main 'station' and 2 small shunting yards. SIngle track and a reversing loop, only one train at the time can run around in whichever direction. In order to get things a bit more exciting I wrote a small routine for my HP41C calculator that I took out of a drawer in these lockdown days. This calculator was a valid companion to my university years and has never let me down, plus I'm learning again how to use it :-) I have found a few random number generators online and wrote a program on top of them so that I tell the 41C how many wagons I want to have in my 'convoy' and the calculator randomly picks them and shows their order on screen. In this way I can shunt around the wagons and attach the selected ones to the locomotive. I know, I could use some more powerful computer to do this but the 41C is still a nice piece of kit after all these years and small enough to habe by the layout. Pictures of wagons cut out of catalogues and stuck to card index cards shuffled and placed in order. The sacrilege is of course cut up M catalogues of that age which strangely I still have holes and all.

(and I don't have this particular one yet) Cookee, the only problem with use of this car is that when it is part of a consist with a 6021, you have to enter the address, followed by enter and then function to get the train to move.

I have a theme of 'Technology Wagons' - sort of like the Beer Cars and others that people like to collect. So far it's small, but I am getting there.... Mostly HP, and some Mini-Club including two "IBM" and one "Canon" Here are some more, 2 for Konica (now Konica Minolta), and one "Unisys" (formerly Burroughs - waaay back) And finally, a nice TRIX set for Triumph-Werke, who became Triumph-Adler, well-known more recently for Typewriters etc. I have worked for IBM, Triumph-Adler and HP so they are all rather cool in that way. There are many others from other brands that I have also found through Koll's and ebay that I will add but only if they come up at the right price. I don't actively search for them.

Had I known, when I made a conscious decision to embark into the world of Märklin back in the early 80's, the convoluted journey it would take me on, and how my interests would develop and expand over the years, I doubt I would have believed it. At that time I only thought of Märklin as H0 trains. By the way, the two IBM wagons are not really done justice in that image so I'll add better shots here. They were not easy to find at the time. Of course now they are probably ten a penny! There are some in H0 as well but they are real hard to find.
