Good day to all,

Many of you may know the famous shop in Paris "Au Pullman" (https://www.aupullman.com/).
And you may also know the famous Krok ref 37564 from Olaerts.

I have had many discussions with the owner of the shop Au Pullman and a project came out of our minds.
We are thinking of creating a special edition engine, just like the Olaerts Krok, for the shop "Au Pullman".

The key elements are:
- Märklin branded locomotive as the Pullman shop has a Marklin enthusiast reputation.
- Märklin mus already have the mold for the engine
- The model should have a real livery that has not been made by Märklin already or that needs to be reissued because not updated since a long time.
- Try to have a differenciating packaging
- Märklin seems to ask a minimum order of 1000 units ... We may look at making a crownfunding with orders and once we get the sufficient amount, the production should be launched. And we may check the possibility to combine Trix and Märklin models in the order.
- Find a model that would be accessible to all (ie not too expensive...)

I have already asked the question of the french Märklin forum. Some people may be interested.

The list of models that came out are:
- Specific 241A (either weathered or other color)
Marklin 39241.jpg

- New edition of a french ETAT 231 (ex S3/6 and former Märklin 3317) with maybe the new mold of the 39436
Marklin 3317.jpg

- New edition of the BB12000 (Ref 37335) but with the sounds of the 37339
Marklin 37335.jpg

- BB15000

If you have any comments/ideas, please feel free to answer.

The owner of the shop will soon have a meeting with Märklin to check what molds could be used. And discuss quantities. In the meantime, any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you.

Have a nice day.

A.

Hi Antoine,

What a great idea !

For me, I would buy a 360mm radius compatible loco.

Other interesting recent moulds available:

37036 from 230F
37813 from 150Z

Both could be with new numbers , new livery, and sounds....

Au Pullman is a great shop !

Best Regards
Joël

From my perspective i would prefer a steam loco, I wouldn't have a place for a 'flat iron' loco on my layout. The concern I would have for the 241A is it would be expensive, i.e. the sort of price that the 39242 was.

Hi a new livery Sybic or bb22200 would be nice.
With an MFX+ sound decoder👍

Or a TGV livery which is unlikely to be a mainstream Marklin catalogue item such as this?

Hi Dan,
That is a very striking design.
Would the existing Märklin moulds for the model TGV suit this one?

Hi, I forgot about the original livery for the SNCF bb15000. Before they were in TEE silver and red. They were also some in Green. How about this for an affordable model with tooling available and perhaps with full sound and MFX+ It’s never been done from Marklin 👍

Hi,

Alerted by Alterstreek to this post, and a fan of this project (albeit, after years missing from this forum for personal reasons ...), I'd back up the Prussian P8 request by TrainIride even it wasn't made or sold by "Au Pullman", which is, I agree a great store !

And it's not the 37038 danmarklinman ... ;)

Here's the link :

While I really like the 241A and ETAT 231 models suggested by AntoinePrt (really nice!), I'm afraid they may cost a fortune.
This P8 may be a way to make a rather lower cost model with the available Märklin tooling ...
Maybe make two models depending on funding ?

My two cents ^^.

Best to y'all,

Y ;)

AntionePrt,

Greetings from sunny Sydney.

If they are becoming available I would certainly buy the 241A, weathered or not, and the ETAT 231.

Would be too much to ask that both have MFX and factory fitted smoke? BigGrin

Kind regards

John

Hi Dan,
That is a very striking design.
Would the existing Märklin moulds for the model TGV suit this one?

Kimball

Hello!
This TGV is a TGV duplex first generation. The appearance of the TGV V150 (37797) is the same, but the TGV V150 have only the R1, R4, R8 coach.
And the TGV OUIGO have a differents interior for the R4 coach, because in the Low cost TGV french, they don't have a bar coach.
The TGV OUIGO is not a special TGV, but this PDF have every coloration of every French TGV, Thalys, Eurostar, Lyria.

Hi TGV POS,

Thanks for that. 37797.
Well I think that livery would be an excellent choice for 1,000 pieces.
Would 599 Euros be too expensive for Au Pullman customers?
I might even buy one ....

Hello there,

Thank you for these feedbacks.

Regarding the TGV, I doubt it might feasible as Märklin will most probably have it in their « due to come items ». But I’ll keep it in mind.

I have the green light from the Pullman to take over with the discussion directly with Märklin.
I’ve sent an email yesterday evening with 3 questions:
- molds available for this kind of project
- quantities
- if (in the quantities) a split is possible between Trix and Märklin (to reach more customers)

Have a nice day.

A.

Hello

Might be interested in buying a model, depends which one will be on offer and cost. My preference is the 241A.

Thanks

Ben

Edited to add:

Maybe something to this level?

To be fear, a 10 car set would be very expensive for the average Marklin family man. So my preference would be a single loco, such as the EtAT railway loco or a bb15000 in greenLove Love
See here for Etat loco https://loco-ho.com/wp-c...TAT-EX-Wurtember_002.jpg
Would look great in the ETAT Railway colours,And it runs around 36 radius!!

https://i0.wp.com/ztrain...oads/2018/01/DSF4838.jpg

Also as Marklin already have done this loco in Z? Then they would already have a start on the art work for it!!!!
