Does anyone else have this problem with ESU locos derailing sometimes going over C track turnout ?

Yes, it happens.
It's been a long discussion , ESU claiming they have found the "perfect compromise" in spacing the wheels by 14.0mm on their locos (2-rail is 14.2 mm, 3-rail is 13.8mm)
Rather than "perfect", it's a "hit and miss" solution.
That's why so far, despite their very nice design, great functionalities, great sounds, I haven't purchased an ESU loco yet.

I have an ESU 31256 and don't have any problems with it on turnouts or anywhere else.

That said, I did modify all turnouts by pushing the guard rails towards the outside, this prevents derailments of other equipment. Maybe this is what helps this loco running true as well...

Problem solved. This ESU loco is equipped with NEM pockets and I could swap the couplings. The ESU coupling is designed for 2 rail track and the prong used to uncouple is too long and it catches on the centre pukos. If you look closely at a C track turnout, the pukos rise slightly as they move to the centre of the turnout and this is where the ESU coupling runs foul.
Take it easy . . . . or any other way you can get it !!!!
