Hello All,

I searched the forum and only found that it is possible to use the DS64, I am new to Marklin and want to use Digitrax DS64's on my layout that will be controlled with the Mobile Station, What is needed to make it work? Do I need to upgrade to a Central Station for this to work. My main goal is to use the Atlas Turnout's

Thanks in Advance
David

Why do you want to use a Digitrax DS64? The equivalent from Maerklin is the decoder m83 mfx (60832). A DS64 only knows DCC. The m83 is a multiprotocoll decoder, means you can use it for the track formats MM, DCC, mfx. The mfx function allows you to install it like any other mfx article. Its digital address is registered and managed by the Maerklin controller systems (MS 2, CS 2, CS 3).

What you need to make it work, read at the 60832 manual.

No, a CS is not necessary, but minimum you use a MS 2. But you have to know a MS 2 provides a maximum of 1,9 A power. A CS 3 a minimum of 3 A. With a stronger power supply you can achieve up to 5 A for a CS 3.

Hello!
It will be fine by use Digitrax DS64 with the MS2.
You need only to set DCC protocol in the MS2 for turnouts/signals.
Just follow manual of the DS64 how to program by write value in each of the CV adress.

DCC = Digital Command Control

The CS3 or MS2 are just like any train controllers that supply an output to the track.

as per the DS64 manual
"Connect the DS64’s ‘TRKA’ and ‘TRKB’ terminals to your track."
