Does anyone here know if the engine sound of the Märklin G2000, is from the actual G200 with MTU or CAT ? or is it just a standard engine ?
I have asked Märklin suport about it, but they don’t have that information. However, I have observed that ESU state that they have the MTU engine. Reason for this, is that I chase the sound of the CAT 3516 B locomotive engine. I’m not an engineer, but for me it sounds like the Märklin G2000 is not a CAT 3516. (Sound files on PC speaker). But my reference is Cat 3516 C at fixed 1800 rpm, from memory, so it’s hard to tell.
