MDT3 tool.jpg

Dear All

I am working on a 60973 pickup direction decoder and need some advice on the installation in a loco. It states in the instructions before plugging in the decoder it has to be programmed correctly. The statement is; Outputs 3 (forwards) and 4 (reverse) must be ACTIVE for the pickup shoe changeover. The setting for this is done in the mDT3 by means of the function activator "ALWAYS" and "Action to ALWAYS:. The programming here depends on the wiring, and it maybe necessary to swap the output functions.

I have the mDT3 tool and found the 'Function Activator" label, as shown in the graphic. However cannot find the "ALWAYS" or the "Action to ALWAYS" toggle. Does anyone know where this function is on the mDT3 screen?

Has anyone worked on a 60973 pickup changeover board and can help.

Much appreciated.

Best regards
David

'Immer', means, always.

Hi
Do you have the latest software version 3.3.0?
try following this tip: https://www.stummiforum.de/viewtopic.php?t=138079#p1558684

Hi David
The principle is simple: send an impulse AUX3 when going forward and an impilse on AUX4 when going backward.
With a CS2 (and probably similarly with a CS3):
- enter the working mode on the decoder
- push program CV key
- push any function key and wait until all parameters are transferred
- install two new function keys (F31 and F32 for instance)
- program F31 to drive AUX3 on when forward and F32 to drive AUX4 on when reverse
- enter values in the decoder
- leave the CV programming
- in the working mode select F31 and program it as a time function (1 second) and similarly for F32
finished. You can test your wiring by pushing F31 or F32
Note: I gave up wiring the slider changeover and replacing it with a train software (Rocrail). Without any wiring, any train can drive backwards and stop at the right place
Cheers
Jean

60973 schematic Diag.jpg

Dear All

Still having problems with the 60973 pickup board. I have created a graphic to summarise what is required.

The basic steps are using the mDT3 V3.4 are
1) In the special functions section the parameter is set to 'Always'.
2) In the functions output 3 parameter is set to 'Forward'.
4) In the functions output 4 parameter is set to 'Backward'.

On the 60973 the wiring is done as per the diagram.

Is this all correct?

Thanks in advance.

Regards
David
