Hello to all the members

I decided to disassemble my train layout to assemble a new one, in the old one I paint streets, lakes, etc, etc, (over the layout wood).
My question is; how can I paint the entire layout in one color and which is the best color.
Thank you, regards,

Carlos Crocco

Carlos,

You may get as many answers as there are members of the forum...Blink

But I feel that it depends quite a bit on what you plan for the layout and the size.

Bahnbetriebswerk? I might be inclined to paint it grey to match the ashes and coal that would be ever-present.

Countryside? Perhaps a green to start.

My personal one is what might be called "Laminat-Bahn" or in my case Fichtebahn 'Spruce Railway', basically bare wood with a very light stain and then I can be anywhere, anytime. But that is a purely personal choice and approach although inspired by others doing the same.

Good luck!

Jimmy

I cover my baseboard with Woodland Scenics Grass mat. I then use a square ended Xacto blade to shave off the grass to make roads.

Hi Jimmy,
I going to be more specific. Here I'm sending you a photo of my layout before disassembling and one with the layout disassembled.
Thank you, regards,

Would you not want to paint different colours for station areas and country scenes etc. Or are you just using one colour as a base coat.
Take care I like Marklin and will defend the worlds greatest model rail manufacturer.
