How do you detach the tender from the 36240 loco? Do just pull them apart, or is it not supposed to detach at all?Confused
Thanks

Good question. Looking at the explosion drawing of this loco, it seems to be not easy but possible. Although you get of both sides of the coupling drawbar little springs you cannot see in the drawing how these springs are attached to the frame at the loco and the tender as well. But by the drawing the spring may be removable from the drawbar minimum at one side. But as always for springs is the overstretching problem.

You can detach it for repair/fabrication process, but that's it. Remember that the the motor is in the boiler and electronics are in the tender. No point in making it detachable for every day use
